Dr. Swati Mujumdar

UNESCO Chair
Dr. Swati Mujumdar is an internationally recognized expert in vocational education, skill development, and higher education, with over two decades of professional experience in the education sector. She has been actively advising the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra on policy matters at both national and international levels, particularly in areas such as higher education, blended learning models, vocational education and training (TVET), skill development, and distance education.
Dr. Mujumdar serves as a policy advisor on skill development and self-financed universities. She is also a research supervisor and holds a UNESCO Chair, reflecting her contributions to global academic and policy discourse. She is a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Seminar (FINEAS) grant for 2024–2025.
Dr Aparna S. Deshpande (Assistant Professor Research)
Dr Aparna S. Deshpande is an academic researcher with over 15 international publications in the fields of sustainable energy technologies. She holds a patent on sustainable energy electrolyser application, reflecting her contributions to clean energy innovation. She has been awarded multiple postdoctoral fellowships, highlighting her academic excellence and global research engagement. In addition to her research, she is actively engaged in skill development initiatives, emphasizing industry-oriented education, hands-on learning, and bridging the gap between academia and industry to enhance employability and technical competencies among students.
Ms. Esha
(Research Assistant)
Ms Esha is a public policy professional with a Master’s from Christ Deemed to be University and a degree in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. Over the past three years, she has worked in policy research across gender, public health, and urban development. Her experience spans mixed-methods research, stakeholder engagement, and translating data into meaningful insights. She has contributed to research organisations like IPPAI and Symbiosis with a focus on gender inclusion and skill development. Ms Esha is driven by a commitment to building more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable communities through policy and research.
Mr Parth Deshmukh
(Research Assistant)
Mr. Parth Deshmukh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science from Symbiosis Skills & Professional University (2023) and a Master’s Degree in Data Science from the same university. He brings with him 2 years of industry experience. Prior to joining SSPU, he was associated with eClerx Pvt. Ltd., Pune as an Analyst.
